Land Contamination

Part 2A of the Environmental Protection Act 1990 requires the Council to investigate sites potentially affected by land contamination in a prioritised manner. It also requires each local authority in Wales to hold a public register of designated contaminated sites, to publish a contamination land inspection strategy document, and to hold a list of potentially contaminated sites. Under the Freedom of Information Act 2000, please send me the following information. Requests marked with an '*' indicate the data should be provided using the attached template spreadsheet, or in a similar machine-readable document with a similar layout. Please note the spreadsheet attached has two pages. 1. A copy of your council's most recent contaminated land inspection strategy document. 2. Your council's contaminated land register, in a machine-readable format. Please can you also send, in a machine-readable format*: 3. The number of sites which have been identified as being potentially affected by land contamination under the local authority by the council. Additionally, can you please send in a machine-readable format the following*: 4. The number of phase 1 assessments (desk studies) conducted each year by the council as part of the council's contaminated land strategy for years 2014-most recent. If the data does not go back to 2014, please provide data from the earliest suitable starting date. 5. The number of phase 2 assessments (intrusive studies) conducted each year by the council as part of the council's contaminated land strategy for years 2014-most recent. If the data does not go back to 2014, please provide data from the earliest suitable starting date. * 4a. Please also include the yearly expenditure on the aforementioned phase 1 assessments for each year, for years 2014-most recent. * 5a. Please also include the yearly expenditure on the aforementioned phase 2 assessments for each year, for years 2014-most recent. Finally, please also include: 6.
