Pupils Moving From Private To State Schools
Good afternoon, I'm writing with the below request under the Freedom of Information Act (2000). How many pupils have started at schools run by the local authority so far in 2025? Of those, how many pupils moved from a fee-paying school? (including schools referred to as public, private or independent schools) How many pupils started at local authority-run schools in 2024? Of those, how many pupils moved from a fee-paying school? Please provide your responses broken down by each local authority-run school where possible. CLARIFICATION The question refers to pupils in all primary and secondary year groups (excluding reception and nursery) who have been offered a place at a state-run school the council holds information for. Please include those who started the academic year and those who have been mid-year transfers. Please provide the information in calendar year format unless that exceeds the FOI allowed time.
