Toilet facilities in schools

I am writing to request information under the Freedom of Information Act 2000. As you will be aware, the Workplace (Health, Safety and Welfare) Regulations 1992 ("the Workplace Regulations") place a duty on employers to provide suitable and sufficient sanitary conveniences for their employees, including the provision of separate facilities for male and female users (Regulation 20). As the employer of staff working in its maintained schools in Wales, this duty falls on the local authority in respect of school premises. I therefore request the following information: 1. How many of the authority-maintained schools currently provide separate, single-sex toilet facilities for staff i.e. entirely separate facilities for male and female staff, not shared, unisex or 'gender-neutral' only? 2. How many schools, if any, have been identified as non-compliant with Regulation 20 in respect of staff toilet provision? 3. Does the authority have a policy or guidance specifically addressing compliance with Regulation 20 in relation to staff toilet provision at its schools? If so, please provide a copy.
